Eddie Blazquez – Overview
Eddie Blazquez is a Puerto Rican-American musician, author, and director born on March 28, 1974, to a Spanish father and Puerto Rican mother. He’s known as the frontman of the Latin fusion group Toke D Keda, for starring and directing in Mega TV’s series El Show Mas Estupido De La Television, and for creating and directing the docuseries I’m Not Supposed To Be Here, which premiered on The Roku Channel.
Music Career
Solo Work
Blazquez released a ten-track, self-titled solo album, Eddie Blazquez, in 1996, which includes tracks such as “Cuántas Veces,” “Vete Ya,” and “Amor Amargo”.
In 1998, he had his breakout on Telemundo’s Sueños de Fama, where he earned a recording contract with Sony Music.
Toke D Keda
His career took flight with the founding of the Latin fusion band Toke D Keda in 2000, blending bachata, pop, and global sounds. Their debut album, Picando Alante, was
released in 2005.

In 2005, he directed and starred in El Show Más Estúpido De La Televisión on Mega TV, a cult program known for its eclectic guests, including Wisin & Yandel, Calle 13, Reik, and Nek.
He produced Santiago the Dreamer in The Land Among the Stars (2014) starring Ricky Martin, and worked on CNCO’s hit video Quisiera (Ballad Version) in 2016.

In 2025, Blazquez unveiled the award-winning docuseries “I’m Not Supposed To Be Here”, streaming now on The Roku Channel. Spanning over five hours, the series offered an unflinching look at his battles with major labels, betrayals, censorship, and personal struggles, while celebrating his artistic triumphs.

Blazquez published a memoir titled I’m Not Supposed To Be Here, available in book and audiobook formats on Audible.

Russia Detention Incident
Eddie Blazquez was detained in Russia after speaking about freedom of expression during a performance in Vladimir Putin’s Russia. The docuseries documents this dramatic event and its aftermath.
